Kybella® is a recently FDA-approved safe and effective non-surgical treatment that corrects submental fullness caused by moderate to severe excess fat under the chin, commonly referred to as “double chin.”

Submental fullness can impact a broad range of adults, including both women and men, and can be caused by aging, genetics and weight gain.

Each treatment session with Kybella® is typically 15-20 minutes done right in the office.

Kybella® is injected with minimal to no discomfort into the fat layer in and around the chin.

The injection consists of deoxycholic acid, similar to the body’s own natural fat dissolver that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into subcutaneous fat, Kybella® causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat. After the aesthetic response is achieved, retreatment with Kybella® is not expected. Once the fat is dissolved, it is naturally eliminated through the body.

Kybella® is great for patients who do not want to undergo surgical liposuction, but would like to enhance definition in the chin and neck area.

Board-certified Chicago dermatologists Dr. Pinski and Dr. Sulewski provide a series of 2-6 injections spaced 4-6 weeks apart to contour and redefine the chin, jawline and neck.
